Two years ago, my dad hired an estate planning Autin TX attorney to take care of his will. The person he hired was not very savvy and there were many mistakes made. As a result, we had some trouble once he passed away.
Now that I have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's, I want to make sure that I get everything in order now. I will not be using the same attorney my father used, and I want to avoid anyone that is remotely as incompetent as he is. That is why I am being very careful with my search.
I am pretty well off, but the last thing I want is to spend a bundle on legal help. I know that you should never choose an attorney based on cost alone, but I will not be spending more than I need in order to get my affairs in order. I also refuse to deal with someone who has not been an attorney for very long. I know that there are many great, young attorneys out there, but I do not fee like risking all of my money in order to find out if they are truly worth it.
